Job summary

Woolmer Hill School in Birmingham seeks a Person in charge of Catholic life and mission (PICCL). In partnership with the headteacher and governing board, the PICCL ensures that Catholic ethos permeates curriculum, pastoral structures and wider community life, fostering Christ-centred, curious and justice-minded learners.

Qualifications

• Must be a practising Catholic in accordance with CES terms.
• Ability to lead on Catholic life and mission across the school.
• Experience liaising with diocesan protocols is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and leadership for Catholic life and mission.
• Ensure Catholic life is central to school improvement plans and resource allocation.
• Lead staff formation and CPD to model Catholic life and mission.
• Support governors in fulfilling guardianship of the school's Catholic mission.
• Engage with diocesan officers and the bishop's vision and represent the school to parish communities.
• Coordinate retreats, liturgical events, and parish partnerships to enable active pupil involvement.
