Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust in London is seeking an experienced Ward Manager / Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead the Cath Lab nursing team and drive high standards of care and safety for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.

You will collaborate with Matron, consultants and the multidisciplinary team to improve quality, performance and patient experience, while managing staffing, governance and learning across the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible and effective leadership to the Cath Lab nursing team.
• Lead, support and develop Junior Sisters/Charge Nurses, Staff Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Support Workers.
• Ensure high standards of patient safety, experience and clinical care.
• Manage staffing, workforce planning and resource utilisation.
• Oversee governance, audit, quality improvement and risk management activities.
• Support delivery of elective and emergency cardiac services, including primary PCI pathways.
• Foster a positive learning environment and promote professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to optimise patient flow and service efficiency.
• Work clinically in numbers in the department, cover labs when needed.
• Commit to the On Call emergency service, through HAC or DAP pathway, open 365 days a year, 24/7
