Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor for Basildon Hospital. Based in our refurbished staff and visitor restaurant, you will lead the catering team to deliver a high-quality dining experience for patients, visitors and colleagues.

You will provide hands-on leadership, ensuring food safety, customer service and operational efficiency are maintained. The role requires supervisory experience and strong communication to support a welcoming, efficient service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in catering or hospitality supervisory roles.
• Strong leadership and team-management skills.
• Excellent customer service standards and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a small catering team to maintain high service standards.
• Assist with rostering, annual leave, and sickness reporting.
• Handle food prep, display, and portion control in line with standards.
• Serve food and beverages meeting quality expectations.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and safety policies are followed.
• Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through rotation and storage.
