Job summary

Amey is seeking a Catering Team Leader to join our National Highways account on site at Birmingham (Three Snow Hill Queensway). The role offers a salary of £14.12 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am–4:00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will lead a reception and events team, manage catering orders, maintain health and safety standards and deliver excellent customer service. Previous reception/events management and people management experience is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to deliver smooth reception and event experiences, manage catering orders and refreshments.
  • Ensure reception points are staffed during required hours.
  • Develop and manage a direct report(s).
  • Provide excellent customer service and a welcoming approach to clients.
  • Oversee catering preparation and stock control.
  • Record and report catering orders in CAFM and follow payment processes.
  • Identify hazards and maintain safety records.

Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Catering Team Leader to Join our National Highways Account in Birmingham - Three Snow Hill Queensway (B46GA) - This role be based on site.

The salary £14.12 per hour

The hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week: 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday (start and finish times may vary due to operational needs and can be discussed in interview.

Amey provides comprehensive facilities and estate management services for National Highways England, including maintenance, cleaning, and project management.

We collaborate with clients, staff, and partners to ensure our 24/7 service maintains high standards with minimal disruption, keeping one of Europe's busiest road networks safe and operational.

What you will do:
  • To lead a team to work together and achieve a smooth reception & event experience, booking and managing events including all refreshments / stationary requests.
  • Ensure reception points are fully staffed during required hours.
  • Develop a team / direct report.
  • Good customer service.
  • Provide a positive, friendly and welcoming manner to the client.
  • Catering preparation service to clients / control stock levels.
  • Order, report & record all catering orders for the Midlands NH contract on CAFM, following Amey application for payment process.
  • Identify & report hazards in the workplace.
  • To maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring that legislation is complied with.
  • Ensure effective health and safety planning and inspections are undertaken regularly and appropriate records maintained.
  • Ensure practical, sustainable and commercially successful results are delivered brilliantly; Work with others to solve problems.
  • Exceed customer expectation through listening and responding quickly. Proactively seek to improve own skills and act with honesty and integrity.
  • Take personal accountability for ensuring Amey employees and the public are kept safe at all times; React to new challenges with a flexible and positive attitude; Share knowledge and learn from best practice to achieve Amey's objectives.
