South Lanarkshire Council is recruiting an Assistant Cook in Charge at the Council Offices, Hamilton, to manage a catering service and supervise a team of Facilities Assistants (Catering).

You will allocate duties, create rosters, train staff, and perform clerical and financial duties related to catering, including meals prep, food orders, quality audits and adherence to food safety systems. Strong communication and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or kitchen supervision.
• Able to work to rosters and schedules.
• Strong communication and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Allocate duties and manage work rotas for the catering team.
• Carry out basic routine training and supervise Facilities Assistants (Catering).
• Perform clerical and financial duties related to the catering function.
• Prepare meals, order goods, and carry out quality audits consistent with food safety systems.
