Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Catering Supervisor at Abingdon School to lead day-to-day catering operations, ensuring service standards, food quality, and safety.

You will supervise staff, maintain high hygiene levels, manage stock, and support events school-wide, contributing to a smooth, welcoming dining experience for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (essential).
• NVQ Level 2 in Catering, Hospitality, or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing catering facilities where required.

What You Will Do

As Catering Supervisor, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the catering operation, ensuring excellent service standards, food quality, and compliance across all areas.

What You Bring

We're looking for a motivated and experienced catering professional who enjoys leading by example and creating a positive customer experience.

You will have

• Previous supervisory experience within catering, hospitality, or food service environments
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience working in busy catering operations serving large numbers of customers
• Good knowledge of food safety, food hygiene, and allergen legislation
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
• The ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Experience with stock control and food cost management
• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (essential)
• NVQ Level 2 in Catering, Hospitality, or equivalent qualification (desirable)
