Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is seeking a dedicated Catering Manager to lead our central services team at Weston-Super-Mare. You will manage school catering operations, adapt menus, control costs and ensure nutritional standards are met while delivering a welcoming dining experience for pupils.

The role is 32 hours 30 minutes per week, term-time, on a fixed-term contract lasting 9-10 months. The salary is £20,950.74, with benefits including pension contributions and paid care days,

Qualifications

• Adapting menus to school needs with cost and nutrition considerations.
• Produce food per menu and ensure quantities meet service requirements.
• Identify stock needs and place orders with nominated suppliers.
• Maintain food at service to required standard.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Supervise kitchen staff and motivate the team.
• Attend training, meetings and parent evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all food is produced as per the menu and ensure there are sufficient quantities to meet the service requirements.
• Identify stock requirements and place orders using nominated suppliers.

• Sound knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Supervise the teams in terms of allocation of duties and standards, communicating effectively and motivating individuals.
• Attend any training sessions, meetings and parent evenings in relation to your duties.
