Job summary

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) has an opening for a reliable catering assistant to support nutritious school meals for pupils. This part-time role is 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during term time, across Weston-super-Mare.

The post involves promoting healthy eating and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and service within busy school kitchens. Applicants with experience in school kitchens, cafes, or restaurants are encouraged, with interview on 6 October

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving hot and cold school meals
• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the school kitchen
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen compliance
• Cleaning kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and dining spaces
• Assisting with stock control and kitchen organisation
• Encouraging healthy eating and providing excellent customer service to pupils
• Helping create a safe, welcoming and enjoyable lunchtime environment

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) has an exciting opportunity for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking catering assistant to join our successful trust-wide catering services team.

This is an ideal role for someone looking for a school catering job, kitchen assistant role, food service assistant position, or part-time catering work in Weston-super-Mare. Whether you have previous experience in a school kitchen, café, restaurant or food preparation environment, or are looking to develop a career in catering, we'd love to hear from you.

As a catering assistant, you will help provide nutritious, high-quality meals to pupils while ensuring our kitchens maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety and customer service.

Hours: 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent term-time only,39 weeks per year, including 15 INSET hours per academic year
