Job summary

Parkside Residential Home in Romford is seeking a skilled Catering Manager to lead its Hospitality team and oversee high-quality, freshly cooked meals for residents with diverse dietary needs.

You will work as the main cook twice weekly, cover holidays for other cooks, and manage the catering service to ensure a reliable seven-day operation while maintaining the home’s welcoming dining experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering management within care settings.
• Cooking for 30+ people in a professional kitchen is required.
• Ability to supervise a kitchen team and manage budgets.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and health & safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Hospitality team and oversee day-to-day catering operations.
• Cook fresh meals twice per week and cover for holidays.
• Manage staff rota to ensure seven-day service.
• Create seasonal menus based on residents' needs and feedback.
• Prepare meals for allergies and dietary requirements.
• Manage food orders, stock, suppliers and budget.
• Maintain Parkside's five-star Food Hygiene rating.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, HACCP and health & safety requirements.
• Maintain kitchen records and temperature logs.
• Organise catering for events and liaise with residents and families.
