Cygnet Newton House in Lancashire is seeking an outstanding Catering Manager with a passion for food and care. You will work 48 hours per week, creating an excellent culinary experience for residents in our care at Cygnet Newton House.

You’ll lead a kitchen team, plan menus, manage stock and budgets, and ensure high hygiene standards to comply with Cygnet procedures and COSHH regulations. DBS check will be required. Competitive hourly rate of £14.40 applies.

• Experienced chef with care-sector exposure.

We are looking for an outstanding Catering Manager who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference. You'll be working 48 hours per week, creating an excellent culinary experience for the people in our care at Cygnet Newton House.

Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery. From admission, the team work with the men we support to maximise positive outcomes and recovery, while focusing on discharge plans to support them to move on to the least restrictive environment for them. Our dedicated clinical team provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and vocational training.

Your Day-to-Day...

• Liaise with nursing colleagues to meet patients nutritional & dietary needs
• Order food supplies, plan & review menus
• Prepare, cook & serve food of the highest standard
• Organise work rotas, manage budgets & kitchen staff
• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room
• Maintain personal hygieneto comply with Cygnet standards & food hygiene regulations
• Ensure record keeping is accurate & complies with regulations & Cygnet procedures
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
• Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

You are...

• A skilled chef, preferably with experience within the care sector
• A strong leader with a track record of managing a team
• Experienced in stock ordering, budget management & menu planning
• The holder of an advanced food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
• Polite & professional, with a positive attitude to internal & external requests at all times
• An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
• Dedicated and driven to deliver the best possible service.
