Vertas is seeking a Food Development Officer to join our catering team in Rainworth. You will help deliver innovative, nutritionally balanced menus across sites, ensuring compliance with school food standards and allergen regulations.

You will support recipe development, manage costs, and maintain digital food systems while liaising with procurement to source sustainable products. Strong team collaboration and stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food services; schools experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food standards, allergen legislation and school food requirements.
• Experience in menu and recipe development with cost control awareness.

Responsabilités

• Support menu development and ensure meals are nutritionally balanced.
• Assist with allergen management and accurate record keeping.
• Maintain digital food systems including recipes, allergen and nutritional platforms.
• Liaise with procurement teams to source quality, sustainable products.
• Research, trial and evaluate new dishes and products.
• Carry out quality audits of food standards, service and presentation across sites.
• Support catering teams with training, guidance and best practice.
• Engage pupils with tastings and menu initiatives.
