Job summary

Serco Leisure Operating Limited in Belfast is seeking a Catering Assistant to join the catering team. You will help create a welcoming food service environment while supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality catering services in a clean, professional setting.

Your work will help ensure customers receive excellent service every day and contribute to our positive impact in the community. The role offers a chance to progress and gain experience in a large leisure organisation.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year's experience in a catering, hospitality, or similar customer-facing environment.
• Good understanding of food safety, allergens, and kitchen best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• You’re a team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• You’re reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality service.
• You take pride in maintaining high standards of presentation and personal hygiene.
• You can work effectively under pressure while staying organised and managing your time well.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all customers.
• Support the safe service of food and beverages in line with Serco standards.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across counters, tables, service areas, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
• Follow health, safety, food hygiene, and food safety procedures, including temperature monitoring and opening and closing checks.
• Assist with stock management, replenishment, deliveries, and reporting low stock levels.
• Process card transactions accurately and support wider catering operations as required.
