Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is hiring a General Assistant to support our catering operations. You will help with food preparation, including peeling, chopping and making sandwiches, while ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment.

You’ll assist with receiving deliveries, organising storage, and serving customers during shifts and events as needed. We value practical kitchen experience, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential.
• A basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills are important.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment, including utensils and catering stations.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, organising food and supply storage areas.
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu; may act as host/waiter at events.
• Top up vending services.
