Job summary

Cambian Lufton College, Yeovil, is hiring a Catering Manager to oversee all catering operations for the establishment. The role includes delivering learning sessions for students and organising work experience in hospitality and catering, with teaching and assessment duties as part of the position.

You will lead kitchen teams, plan menus, and ensure nutritional, safe and compliant food service for residents and visitors, while maintaining high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in food preparation and cooking or catering and hospitality.
• Current First Aid at Work certificate (may be achieved in post)
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements in a catering environment.
• Experience of menu planning to meet dietary requirements and provide nutritional balance.
• Experience of teaching or supervising students within a kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus in advance, meeting dietary needs and following care/education/clinical guidelines.
• Prepare and present meals to high nutritional standards for students and guests.
• Manage catering staff rotas and kitchen operations across both sites.
• Ensure compliance with food preparation, cooking and storage regulations.
• Monitor stock, supplier deliveries, invoices and the catering budget.
