Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a skilled Cook/Chef for RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, OX18 3LX. You will prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals in line with recipes and hygiene standards, supporting a smooth catering service.

You will follow approved menus, maintain food safety and portion control, and use digital systems to support operations. Relevant qualifications and a keen attention to detail are preferred; a 5-in-7 rota with weekend shifts applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role within the service industry.
• One of the following qualifications (or equivalent): BSc (Catering), MHCIM, HND, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, NVQ Level 2 or 3.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standards precisely.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food in line with approved recipes, menu cycles, and company standards
• Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, portion control, and food safety at all times
• Monitor and record food waste and temperatures in line with compliance requirements
• Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment
• Use digital systems effectively to support service delivery
• Follow correct procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and handling food items
• Complete opening, closing, and handover procedures as required
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and colleagues
• Attend required training, meetings, and briefings
• Report hazards, incidents, or equipment faults promptly
• Work across all areas of the site as directed by management
