Job summary

Derbyshire County Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to support a busy school kitchen. You may work at a production unit or a servery unit as part of a dedicated team.

You will help with food preparation, cooking, portion control and allergen compliance, while ensuring the dining room is prepared for service. This role requires passion for food and teamwork.

Qualifications

• NVQ food hygiene certificate required upon appointment.
• Enjoy working as part of a team and have a passion for food.

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen supervisor in all areas of service.
• Assist with food preparation and cooking as required.
• Assist with portion control and allergen compliance.
• Prepare the dining room for service.

Job description

You will be supporting the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service within our Schools ,This may involve working at a production unit or at a servery unit. Possible tasks include food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen compliance and preparing the dining room for service.

Our Catering Assistants are our point of contact with our hungry customers. Whilst serving meals to our customers all team members help ensure that food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed. We want to help make good lunchtime memories for our customers so it is essential that you can demonstrate an attitude which is appropriate to the school environment.
