Job summary

Easteden is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join our care home dining teams. You will help prepare, present and serve meals and refreshments, ensuring a welcoming and person-centred dining experience for residents, visitors and colleagues.

The role supports nutrition, hydration and dignity at every meal. You will work collaboratively with care, nursing and hospitality teams, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in accordance with food hygiene policies and regulatory

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above.
• Must participate in mandatory training and ongoing development.
• Food Hygiene, Catering or COSHH-related training/certification preferred.
• Experience in catering, kitchen, hospitality, care or customer service.
• Understanding of nutrition, hydration and resident wellbeing in care settings.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, presentation and service of meals and refreshments.
• Promote a welcoming, dignified and person-centred dining experience.
• Assist with dietary requirements and texture-modified options where needed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in dining and kitchen areas.
• Work with care teams to support resident wellbeing and daily catering operations.
