Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, NG17 4BR
Contract type: Permanent, part‑time 20 hours per week (including weekend working)
Rate: £12.71 per hour

About the role

As a Catering Assistant you will support the Chef in preparing and cooking meals for residents, set dining tables and maintain a clean kitchen to ensure a positive dining experience for all.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with basic food preparation.
• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy, including washing up, cleaning freezers and mopping floors.
• Clean and sanitise all tableware.
• Understand residents’ needs, likes and choices to help develop suitable menus.
• Interact with residents to gather feedback on meals.
• Comply with food hygiene standards.
• Collaborate as a team player within the wider Catering Team.

Qualifications and personal attributes

• Interest in food and drink preparation.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene.
• High standards of personal hygiene.
• Excellent team player.
• Adaptable and flexible.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Relevant experience and qualifications are welcomed but not essential; values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success and teamwork are required.
