Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Catering Assistant based at University Hospital Ayr. This permanent post is open to internal staff of NHS Ayrshire & Arran and requires 13.45 hours per week on a rotating schedule.

You will support the Catering Production and Services Team with food preparation, meal service, distribution, wash-up duties and cleaning for patients, staff, visitors and hospitality events, with a focus on therapeutic diets under IDDSI guidance.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills and a flexible approach in a busy kitchen.
• Previous catering or food service experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of IDDSI framework is beneficial for safe preparation.

Responsibilities

• Support high quality catering services through food preparation and meal service.
• Assist with distribution, wash-up duties and kitchen cleaning for patients and staff.
• Work within the IDDSI framework to meet patient meal requirements.
