Job summary

NHS Scotland at University Hospital Ayr is hiring a Catering Assistant for a permanent role. The post is based in a busy production kitchen, with duties including food prep, meal service and support for therapeutic diets.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or food service is advantageous.
• Knowledge of IDDSI framework and therapeutic diets is beneficial.
• Current Food Hygiene Certificate desirable; training will be provided if needed.
• Good communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal service for patients, staff, visitors.
• Support distribution, wash-up duties and cleaning activities.
• Assist in delivery of therapeutic diets with IDDSI compliance.
• Collaborate with Diet Cook and kitchen team.
