Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our busy catering team in Motherwell, Scotland. You will support daily food preparation, serve meals and beverages, and help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment. This term-time role runs 38.8 weeks per year, 12:00–14:00, Monday to Friday, with a temporary contract until 30/09/2027.

PVG clearance is required. Experience in customer service and cash handling is helpful, and an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate

• Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Understands customer needs and current food trends.
• Works well as part of a team.
• Brings experience of customer service, with some exposure to till or cash handling.
