Job summary

Ridgeway Primary Academy is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily meal service during term time. The role involves basic food prep, assisting with cooking, and serving meals to pupils, with duties including setting up and clearing dining areas and maintaining cleanliness.

The position is temporary until 20 July 2027, 10 hours per week plus holiday clean-down time. It requires reliability, teamwork, and good hygiene practices in a school environment.

Ridgeway Primary Academy (part of Primitas Learning Partnership),

CATERING ASSISTANT

Salary: Grade 2, Point 4 (£26,016 per annum whole year) Actual salary £6,012 per annum approx. depending on years’ service

Contract: Temporary until 20th July 2027, term time only

Working Hours: 10 hrs per week + 6 hours clean down hours during school holiday periods. (Pay weeks 44.59)

The vacant post involves 2 hours per day Monday – Friday 12.00 noon - 2.00pm

Ridgeway is a successful 2 form entry primary school in Chasetown. We currently have 417 pupils on roll in the main school and a further 200 children accessing Early Years provision in our term time Ridgeway Tots twos group and Sunbeams Nursery and Sunny Days Nursery, which is open all year.

Ridgeway Primary Academy has an excellent reputation and provides a lively and creative environment in which to work. School received a further ‘Good’ rating from OFSTED at our last inspection in December 2024 and Sunny Days in July 2024. Ridgeway Primary Academy is one of the founding schools in the Primitas Learning Partnership, a cross phase MAT serving the local area which opened in September 2021. Currently there are seven schools within the partnership; two high schools, four primary schools and a special school. The Trust provides opportunities for the schools to work collaboratively to support school improvement.
