Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a friendly Catering Assistant at Westholme residential care home for older adults in Winchester. You will support residents at mealtimes, assist with food preparation, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

No experience needed as full training is provided. You will work as part of a team, use good communication, and show patience and respect for residents' individual needs.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Level 2 in Food Safety or willing to complete within 3 months.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to residents' individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mealtimes and support residents with eating and drinking.
• Assist with food preparation for special diets.
• Carry out cleaning to maintain kitchen hygiene.
• Ensure adherence to food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
• Deliver a person-centred catering service and build relationships.
