Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant at Brecon Hospital on a 30-hour week contract (evenings, weekends, and bank holidays). The role includes preparing beverages, snacks, salads, sandwiches, buffets, and hot meals for patients and staff, with full training provided.

Welsh speakers are welcome; if not, training will be provided. The post is fixed-term/secondment for 10 months with potential for local responsibilities and rota flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering industry.
• Level 2 Food Safety.
• Literacy and Numeracy Level 1 or equivalent.
• Level 2 NVQ in catering or equivalent, or willing to train to achieve it.
• Level 2 numeracy and literacy or equivalent, or willing to train.
• CIEH Level 2 or equivalent food safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare beverages, snacks, salads, sandwiches, buffets, and hot meals for patients and staff.
• Carry out other duties to support the catering operation and the wider Hotel Services Team.
• Work as part of a rota that can include evenings and weekends.
• Welsh language training support is provided.
