Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our on-site catering team. You'll help prepare hot and cold dishes, set up food displays, and serve employees during lunchtime (12:00-14:00). This hands-on role blends creativity, customer interaction, and teamwork to deliver a high-quality dining experience.

Approx working hours are 7:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday. You’ll learn new skills, contribute to events, manage stock, and work closely with our Catering Team Leader to uphold hygiene, food

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or hospitality with food preparation and customer service.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (Basic Food Hygiene Certificate desirable).
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative team player with effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and presenting food for lunchtime service (12:00-14:00) following hygiene standards.
• Display food attractively and monitor presentation during service.
• Serve employees promptly and politely.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment.
• Wash, dry and store dishes and utensils.
• Replenish stock and monitor supplies.
• Assist with ad hoc duties across the catering facility as directed by Chef Team Leader.
• Manage stock levels to prevent shortages or excess and minimise waste.
• Maintain ongoing compliance through food safety and hygiene training.
• Review menus and adapt to seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
