Job summary

Hull City Council is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant (Grade 2) to support day centre and residential centre operations. You will work under supervision of a cook and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen and dining environment.

You will assist with basic meal preparation, dining room service, and washing up, while following health and safety policies. The role includes pro rata hours and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• To promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults.
• To clean kitchen and dining areas and utility rooms under instructions of the cook using domestic cleaning equipment.
• To lay, wait at and clean dining room tables and wash up cutlery, crockery etc to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• To prepare basic meals for customers under supervision.
• To use laundry equipment e.g. washing machines and tumble dryers.
