Job summary

Home Farm Care Home, part of NHS Highland, is seeking a motivated Catering Assistant to support the delivery of nutritious meals and refreshments for residents in Portree, Scotland. The role involves assisting with meal preparation and service, accommodating special diets, and upholding food hygiene and safety standards.

You will operate kitchen equipment safely, assist with dishwashing and cleaning, and work with care home staff to create a positive, welcoming dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of meals, snacks and beverages.
• Support the provision of special diets and individual dietary requirements.
• Ensure food hygiene, health and safety, and infection prevention standards are maintained.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with dishwashing, cleaning and maintaining a hygienic kitchen environment.
• Work closely with care home staff to promote a positive dining experience for residents.
• Help create a welcoming, person-centred mealtime environment.
