Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust in Wakefield is recruiting a Catering Assistant (Band 2) to work 30 hours per week in the main kitchen at Fieldhead Hospital. The role involves weekend and bank holiday work and provides meals to service users, staff and visitors.

You will carry out general catering duties, food safety, cleaning and hygiene in a healthcare setting, follow HACCP procedures and support functions and special events.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer focused environment within a catering setting.
• Commitment to food safety, hygiene and HACCP in healthcare.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory NHS training and courses.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general catering duties in restaurant, hospitality, vending and patient areas.
• Prepare and serve meals, manage kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
• Operate cash handling and assist with event hospitality tasks.
• Follow quality records, temperature checks and daily quality reports.
