Job summary

The Southern Health and Social Care Trust, through MPA Recruitment, invites applications for a Band 2 Catering Assistant to support the catering team at CAH.

You will help supervise catering operations, maintain HACCP hygiene records, assist with food preparation, service, stock control, and equipment care on a rota basis.

Hours include weekday, weekend and evening shifts with weekly pay and holiday fund as part of a public sector framework.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in the public or private sector.
• Kitchen/Pantry experience.
• Willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends and bank holidays on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of hygiene records and HACCP documentation.
• Maintain high cleanliness and tidiness of all catering areas.
• Assist in preparation and service of food and beverages for staff, patients, visitors, and hospitality events.
• Ensure food regeneration and service to patients and staff meets required standards.
• Assist with stock management: ordering, receipt, rotation, storage and stock taking.
• Support staff in the operation of all catering equipment.
• Oversee wash-up of equipment, machinery, crockery and cutlery.
• Monitor disposal of refuse and ensure safe waste practices.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment breakdowns and pest sightings promptly.
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work.
• Conduct service audits and patient/customer surveys periodically.

On behalf of our client, the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, MPA Recruitment welcomes suitable candidates for the role of Band 2 Catering Assistant.

The successful candidate will assist in the supervision of the catering team within CAH

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of hygiene records and documents as per HACCP. (Hazards Analysis critical control)
• Ensure staff maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of all catering areas.
• Support and assist as required in preparation and service of food and beverages for staff, patient's visitors and hospitality functions.
• Ensure food regeneration and service to patients and staff is carried out to the required standard.
• Assist with the management of stock; ordering, receipt, rotation, storage, stocking up and stock taking as required.
• Supporting staff in the operational use of all catering equipment.
• Ensure processes are followed for wash-up of all equipment, machinery, crockery and cutlery associated with the catering service.
• Monitor and support staff with appropriate disposal of refuse.
• Report maintenance issues, machinery breakdown and pest sightings immediately
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to.
• To carry out service audits, patient and customer surveys in all areas periodically.
