Job summary

Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join a fast-paced team, primarily at Pinderfields Hospital, with flexibility to cover Dewsbury and Pontefract as needed.

You will provide safe, hygienic, nutritious and timely food service for patients, ensuring high-quality meals and a clean, well-maintained kitchen and dining environment. Rotas include early and late shifts across 7 days.

Qualifications

• Awareness of regulatory catering hygiene requirements.
• Good food preparation skills; able to follow written instructions.
• Experience in a commercial catering environment; Allergen training.
• Ability to fulfil physical demands of the role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth running of the food preparation and serving areas for patients.
• Willingness to work within other areas of the catering department to ensure continuity of service.
• Observe food hygiene legislation and HACCP at all times.
• Be prepared to work across sites (Pinderfields, Dewsbury, Pontefract) as required.
