Job summary

CHURCHTOWN PRIMARY SCHOOL is seeking a part-time School Catering Assistant to support food preparation, cooking, serving and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area for pupils.

You’ll work alongside the Catering Manager, bringing enthusiasm and a positive attitude. The role is 22.5 hours per week, term-time only, Monday to Friday, 9am to 1:30pm, with opportunities to contribute to a rewarding school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and basic food hygiene.
• Flair for customer care and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals as directed by the Catering Manager.
• Serve meals to students and staff with a friendly approach.
• Keep the dining area clean, welcoming and tidy throughout service.
• Assist with washing up and cleaning duties as required.

Job description

Working alongside our talented Catering Manager and a supportive team, you’ll play an important part in every step of the service—from preparing and cooking to serving and keeping the dining area inviting and clean. Each day brings something different and gives you the chance to make a real difference, helping to keep our students happy, fuelled, and ready to learn.

We’re looking for someone with experience in food preparation and a good understanding of basic food hygiene. A flair for customer care and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team will help you thrive in this busy, rewarding role. This post is part time, 22.5 hours per week, permanent and term time only. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 1:30pm.
