Zusammenfassung

Wadham School is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our catering team. The role runs from 10.45AM to 2.15PM term time plus INSET days (39 weeks), performing food prep, service in the servery, and maintaining kitchen hygiene to high standards.

The ideal candidate will have Level 2 Food Hygiene (or be willing to train), COSHH and Manual Handling qualifications (or willing to train), and previous catering experience.

Qualifikationen

• Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification (or willingness to train).
• Has COSHH and Manual Handling qualifications (or willingness to train).
• Has previous experience in catering and industrial kitchen environments (or relative experience).
• Understands food allergens and safe handling practices.

Aufgaben

• Assist with the preparation of meal ingredients (washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, chopping) following Food Standards Agency guidance.
• Assist in the servery, handling money and iPay transactions for staff and students.
• Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Support in promoting healthy eating options for children.
• Be flexible to cover staff absences and occasionally work additional hours.
• Provide excellent communication and teamwork within a busy catering environment.

We have a vacancy for a Catering Assistant to join our excellent catering Team, working from 10.45AM to 2.15PM term time plus INSET days (39 weeks). This is a varied and interesting position that offers the opportunity to assist in the preparation of hot and cold meals for students and staff and our feeder primary schools, serve in the servery at break and lunch times and help keep the kitchen clean and tidy and hygienic following the guidance of the Food Standards Agency.,

• Assist with the preparation of meal ingredients, which includes washing, cleaning, peeling, cutting, and chopping fruit, vegetables, poultry, and meat to a high standard following Food Standards Agency guidance and practices
• Assist in the servery, taking money and ipay transactions for staff and students
• Keep up to date with current relevant legal requirements and food safety regulations Is reliable and self-motivated with a responsive and reflective approach to work
• Has previous experience in catering and industrial kitchen environments (or relative experience)
• Has Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification (or be willing to train)
• Has COSHH and Manual Handling qualifications (or be willing to train)
• Understands the working of The Children's Food Trust and promotes healthy eating options for children
• Understands food allergens and safe food handling practices
• Has some flexibility to cover staff absences and occasionally work additional hours where required
