Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team at the Tithe Barn site in Nuneaton. This permanent role offers an opportunity to support high-quality catering services in a busy community venue, working 16 hours a week on a rota basis.

You will assist with food preparation, cooking and serving, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and help ensure excellent customer service. The role requires a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, experience in catering, and a flexible

Salary: £24,423 - £24,582 per annum (Pro rata for part time) Pay award pending

Working Hours: 16 hours per week (5 days out of 7 including bank holidays and weekends on a rota basis)

About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages, ensuring customers receive an excellent experience. You will be responsible for helping to prepare service areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, operating as part of a team, and ensuring catering facilities are presented to the highest standard.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience in a catering, hospitality or café environment is desirable, although training will be provided. A commitment to maintaining food safety, health and safety standards, and providing a clean and welcoming environment is essential.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience within the hospitality and catering sector while contributing to the success of a valued community facility. We are looking for someone who is flexible, hardworking and committed to delivering outstanding service to our customers and visitors.

The position is based on a working pattern of 5 days from 7, including weekends and Bank/Public Holidays, and may require occasional work outside normal working hours to meet business needs.
