Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our team at the Tithe Barn site in Nuneaton. This permanent role offers an opportunity to support high-quality catering services in a busy community venue, working 16 hours a week on a rota basis.

You will assist with food preparation, cooking and serving, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and help ensure excellent customer service. The role requires a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, experience in catering, and a flexible

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Basic knowledge of Food Safety/Health and Safety.
• Previous food preparation experience.
• Willingness to undertake training as required.
• Good rapport with customers and staff.
• Ability to lift and handle kitchen equipment.
• Flexible approach, including out-of-hours.
• Able to communicate with staff, customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in service areas.
• Assist in preparing service areas and presenting facilities to a high standard.
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth catering operations.
• Contribute to delivering excellent customer service to visitors.
