Job summary

St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our school catering team. You will help ensure meals are prepared, served, and cleared away efficiently while upholding high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and customer service.

You will work as part of a friendly team within a supportive environment, with training provided and opportunities for career progression across our 23 academies.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering is desirable but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of food and beverages.
• Support basic cooking activities under supervision.
• Serve and transport meals to pupils and staff.
• Set up and clear dining areas, service points, equipment and furniture.
• Wash crockery, cutlery, utensils and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and dining areas.
• Assist with movement and arrangement of dining furniture.
• Undertake other duties as directed by Catering supervisor/Manager.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly catering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in providing a high-quality catering service for our pupils and staff within a supportive school environment. As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure that meals are prepared, served, and cleaned away efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of food and beverages.
• Supporting basic cooking activities under supervision.
• Serving and transporting meals.
• Setting up and clearing dining areas, service points, equipment, and furniture.
• Washing crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen, dining areas, and associated facilities.
• Assisting with the movement and arrangement of dining furniture.
• Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Catering supervisor/Manager.
• Have a positive and flexible approach to work.
• Enjoy working as part of a team.
• Be committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Have previous catering experience (desirable but not essential as training will be provided).
