Job summary

St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our school catering team. You will help prepare, serve and clean up meals for pupils and staff in a supportive school environment, while upholding high hygiene and customer service standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with food prep, serving meals, setting up dining areas, cleaning, and moving furniture. Training is provided and teamwork is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
• A positive and flexible approach to work.
• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking.

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our friendly catering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in providing a high-quality catering service for our pupils and staff within a supportive school environment.

As a Catering Assistant, you will help ensure that meals are prepared, served, and cleaned away efficiently while maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of food and beverages.
• Supporting basic cooking activities under supervision.
• Serving and transporting meals.
• Setting up and clearing dining areas, service points, equipment, and furniture.
• Washing crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen, dining areas, and associated facilities.
• Assisting with the movement and arrangement of dining furniture.
• Undertaking other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Catering supervisor/Manager

The successful candidate will:
