Job summary

NTW Solutions Limited is recruiting for a catering support role at Northgate Park Hospital. The position is 30 hours per week with a rolling 4-week rota: Mon, Fri, Sat, Sun and Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun. Shift pattern 10:00–18:00. You will prepare and pack food, assist with deliveries and stock in a chilled environment.

There is potential to earn more with weekend enhancements. NHS-related terms apply and training in food hygiene and health and safety is provided.

Qualifications

• Good communication with staff, clinical teams and patients.
• Able to work well as part of a team but also unsupervised.
• Able to follow standards and prioritize instructions.
• Must meet the mobility requirements of the post.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety; training provided.

Job description

We are recruiting to the Team at Northgate Park Hospital to work within our friendly Catering Department.

This post is offered at 30 hours per week.

Rolling 4 week rota -

• Monday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Shift Pattern 10.00 - 18.00.

Main duties of the job

Basic food preparation/ packing and cleaning duties within a chilled environment.

Manual handling duties to include excepting and putting deliveries away, collecting items to prep & pack within a walk in freezer, chilled environment

Candidate will be expected to work within a chilled and freezer environment

Regeneration of patients food in a ward environment

Skills and Knowledge

• An ability to communicate well with others such as other colleagues, clinical staff, or patients
• Able to work well as part of a team but also to work unsupervised
• Ability to adhere to standards and procedures and to accept and prioritise instructions
• Must be able to meet the mobility requirements of the post
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety (but training will be given as part of your role)

Experience

• Any previous service industry experience (but we will train you fully if you don't have any experience)
• Previous experience of stock control

Education and Qualifications

• You don't need any formal qualifications for this job, but a certificate in hygiene is desirable. You will be trained in food hygiene and health and safety as part of the role.
