Job summary

Holtspur School & Pre-School is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join our lunchtime team during term-time hours (11:30am–1:30pm, Monday to Friday). You will help prepare and serve meals and support pupils during the lunchtime period.

This role focuses on a safe, positive dining experience, high standards of food hygiene, and teamwork. Experience in a school or childcare setting is welcome but not essential; training is provided and staff are supportive.

Qualifications

• A caring and patient approach when working with children.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A reliable, organised and flexible attitude.
• The ability to follow food hygiene, allergen and health and safety procedures.
• An understanding of safeguarding and pupil welfare.
• Previous experience in a catering, school or childcare setting would be welcomed, but is not essential.

Catering Assistant

We are looking for a reliable, friendly and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Holtspur School.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines preparing and serving lunchtime meals with supporting children during the lunchtime period. You will play an important part in ensuring our pupils enjoy a safe, positive lunchtime experience while helping to maintain high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
