Job summary

CIH International Housing Group’s Mill View in Hauxton, Cambridge, is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly team and support our chefs in delivering high-quality dining for residents. The role is part-time (20 hours per week) with a fixed weekend pattern and permanent status, offering a stable routine for students or those balancing other commitments.

There will be occasional overtime, though not mandatory, and the position provides real-world experience in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

  • A team player with attention to detail and good communication.
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen equipment; Level 2 Food Hygiene is a plus.
  • Experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting chefs with food prep and kitchen duties
  • Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and well-stocked
  • Helping reduce food waste and maintain hygiene standards
  • Contributing to menu ideas based on resident feedback
  • Ensuring food safety and health regulations are always met

  • Monday - 10:00-14:00
  • Tuesday - 10:00-14:00
  • Friday - 10:00-14:00
  • Saturday - 10:00-14:00
  • Sunday - 10:00-14:00

At Mill View, we’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team and support our chefs in delivering a high-quality dining experience for our residents. This role offers a consistentpattern over weekends only - a schedule that allows you to continue with your studies or other employment, while still being part of a rewarding and fast-paced environment.

There will be occasional overtime available to boost your income, although this is not mandatory nor guaranteed.

What You’ll Be Doing:
