Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting a Catering Assistant to join the team at West Suffolk College, IP33 3RL. The role is permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am-2:30pm, term-time only 34 weeks, with full training provided and perks including discounted parking and PerkBox.

You will deliver friendly customer service to students, staff and visitors, prepare and serve beverages to Starbucks standards, handle tills, and maintain clean, stocked counters.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, hospitality, retail, coffee shop or customer service is desirable but training is provided.
• Friendly, positive and customer-focused approach with good communication skills.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, flexible and willing to support different catering areas.
• Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Willingness to learn barista skills and prepare beverages to Starbucks standards.
• Basic food hygiene/allergen/Health & Safety awareness desirable; full training provided.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages to required brand standards.
• Serve food, snacks and other products across the catering operation.
• Operate tills and process cash/card transactions accurately.
• Maintain clean, attractive and fully stocked counters, displays and service areas.
• Replenish and rotate stock and assist with deliveries.
• Follow food safety, allergen, Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and presentation, including general cleaning duties.
• Assist with opening and closing duties as required.
• Work as part of the wider catering team and support other college catering areas and general duties as required.
