Salary: $75–$95 per hour + super

As the Category Manager – Fleet, you will lead strategic procurement and contract management for a high-profile Fleet Replacement Program—ensuring quality, compliance, and value-for-money outcomes to support a growing, future-focused community.
This local government serves over 400,000 residents and is investing in major infrastructure and fleet upgrades to enhance sustainability and service delivery. You will be part of a forward-thinking Asset Planning & Support team that values innovation and professionalism, where your procurement expertise will impact large-scale public outcomes.
This multi-year program focuses on the strategic renewal of plant and fleet assets essential for council operations, including waste services, parks maintenance, civil works, and emergency response. The scope covers the procurement and lifecycle management of a diverse fleet such as passenger vehicles, heavy plant, trucks, trailers, and specialized equipment.
As Category Manager, you will oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, ensuring vendors meet performance, safety, environmental, and cost standards. The program supports council’s operational readiness, WHS compliance, and environmental sustainability goals, including transitioning to lower-emission fleet options.
