Location: Cardiff / Hybrid (2 days office / 3 days remote)

Salary & Package: £45,000 + 35 days annual leave and a strong benefits package

Sea Global is supporting a well-regarded Higher Education institution in their search for a Category Manager to join their dynamic and growing team.

Following significant investment into procurement and a pipeline of strategic projects, this is an exciting opportunity. The function is well-embedded within the University and has full backing from the leadership team.

Reporting to a forward-thinking Procurement Director, you'll take ownership of the Estates and Facilities Management (FM) category – a critical area with high visibility and impact. From day one, you’ll lead tenders and influence key stakeholders across the University.

This role suits someone with a background in public sector procurement looking to broaden their experience and work on meaningful projects. Flexibility on category background makes this suitable for those wanting to step into Estates/FM while bringing transferable skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement processes across Estates and FM, including tendering and supplier management
• Conduct compliant and commercially sound tenders, including Frameworks
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
• Develop and implement strategic category plans aligned with long-term objectives

Experience & Requirements

• Strong procurement experience across the full lifecycle
• Knowledge of public procurement regulations (PCR2015, Procurement Act, OJEU, UCR, etc.)
• Experience in Estates, Hard or Soft FM is desirable but not essential
• CIPS qualification is a plus but not mandatory
