Are you a skilled procurement professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re working with a leading national organisation to recruit an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their high-performing team.

This is a remote-based role with occasional travel to offices in Yorkshire, offering the opportunity to shape procurement strategy and manage a diverse portfolio of supply contracts across key categories. You’ll play a vital role in delivering cost-effective, compliant, and sustainable procurement solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading category-specific procurement strategies and contract work plans
2. Managing end-to-end tender processes and supplier negotiations
3. Driving cost savings and increasing contract coverage
4. Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring KPIs and SLAs are met
5. Providing expert procurement advice and supporting best practices
6. Analyzing spend data and developing market intelligence

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in procurement and supplier management
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• A solid understanding of procurement best practices and e-Procurement tools
• Excellent analytical and reporting capabilities
• A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to travel nationally when required
• Corporate or Indirect experience, especially in managing categories such as Utilities, Waste, or Facilities, would be highly advantageous
• Holding a CIPS qualification or working towards it would be preferred
• Experience or understanding of Public Sector procurement or the Procurement Act 2023 would also be advantageous
