The Category Manager will be responsible for cost optimisation and supplier management for a portfolio of direct for manufacture materials, this role requires strong strategic sourcing, negotiation and market intelligent skills and a commitment to the delivery of operational excellence.

Description

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies to achieve cost savings and value creation.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and service standards are met.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms for the organisation.
  • Analyse market trends and risks to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement and supply chain function.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all purchasing activities.

Profile

A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or related areas within the industrial and manufacturing industry.
  • Strong track record in negotiating and delivering cost savings and efficiency's
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Knowledge of procurement systems and tools.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and solving challenges.
