Job summary

South West Water Limited in Plymouth is seeking a Catchment Technician on a permanent full-time basis. You will support area wastewater services, with core hours of 37 per week and a 1 in 5 standby/call-out rota after training.

The starting salary ranges from £29,934 to £40,668 per year, with the opportunity to enter the progression scheme and a standby salary uplift. You will investigate pollution, support compliance, incident management, provide technical support to Waste Water Operations, and

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs at grades A-C including Maths, English and a Science subject.
• ONC / City and Guilds or NVQ Waste Water Process or Sewerage Control Level 2 or HNC / Water Diploma.
• Technical outlook and ability to analyse and administer varied data sources.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Pollution investigation and RCA involvement.
• Reactive response to compliance hotspots to resolve issues.
• Incident management and recovery.
• Provide technical support to Waste Water Operational Teams.
• Detailed action planning and contingency development.
• H&S investigation and hazard resolution.
• Asset optimisation including contribution to the Smart Alarm project.
• Respond to technical enquiries and customer correspondence.
• Support governance processes: Fire Alarm Testing at AD sites, WAMITAB TCM site inspections, H&S inspections.
• Energy and Water efficiency programme field support.
