Job summary

Portsmouth Water is seeking a team-oriented professional to support its Catchment & Environment Management Team across diverse projects. You will work with the Senior Catchment Officer and Biodiversity Specialist to deliver the Catchment Management Strategy and related commitments.

Role involves assisting on groundwater protection, water quality, grant schemes, and communications, with a focus on reliability, collaboration, and environmental protection.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of geology, hydrology and hydrogeology would be desirable.
  • Scientific and technical skills in catchment management, water quality and groundwater protection would be desirable.
  • Biodiversity knowledge would be desirable.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills; able to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; team and independent working.

Responsibilities

  • Support catchment management across workstreams, groundwater protection and water quality.
  • Assist Biodiversity Specialist on various workstreams and projects.
  • Lead on Biodiversity grant schemes and assist with PES and related schemes.
  • Support Biodiversity Performance Commitment activities.
  • Contribute to planning responses for groundwater and water quality issues.
  • Implement INNS Strategy activities where needed.
  • Lead and support internal and external communications for the team.
  • Support catchment walkovers documentation and reporting.
  • Represent the team in liaison with stakeholders and internal departments.
  • Help organise workshops, promotions, trials and events; participate in meetings.
