Job summary

Canopius Group in London is seeking a Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join a frontline Exposure Management team, helping to develop and maintain analytics across all classes of business. You will influence cat portfolio management and risk selection through close collaboration with underwriting and other teams.

The role requires strong cat modelling experience, numerical proficiency, and advanced data handling with Excel and SQL.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Cat Modelling role within insurance.
• Familiar with RMS or similar risk modelling tools.
• Strong numerical and statistical knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder influence abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements to view of risk (VoR) across classes of business.
• Collaborate with analytics, claims and underwriting to inform VoR improvements.
• Conduct selection and validation of catastrophe vendor models and products.
• Develop research agenda with underwriting to assess Natural Hazard priorities.
• Support event response processes and communicate impacts to the business.
• Develop in-house exposure management approaches for hard-to-model perils.
