Job summary

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is seeking a dedicated Rehoming & Welfare Assistant for the Old Windsor cattery. You will provide compassionate intake, oversee cat welfare, observe and record behavioural data, and help prepare cats for successful rehoming with thorough health checks and socialisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate intake for cats and facilitate a calm, welcoming environment.
• Deliver feline friendly care while cats are on site, monitoring health, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Observe, record and analyse cat behaviour to inform temperament assessments.
• Maintain accurate and timely animal records for each cat.
• Prepare cats for rehoming, including socialisation and health checks.
• Assist with the rehoming process and support new adopters as needed.
• Engage with staff, volunteers and visitors to promote a positive learning environment.
• Perform physical tasks required to provide exceptional standards of care, including handling and moving cats.
