Job summary

Cats Protection in Huntington, North Yorkshire, is seeking a Deputy Centre Manager. This permanent role is 35 hours per week, including weekends, with a salary up to £28,454.94 per year. You will support the Centre Manager to ensure staffing, welfare of cats, and compliant procedures.

Qualifications

• Supervisor/team leader experience, ideally within an animal welfare environment or organisation.
• Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of prevention and control of infectious diseases in cats.
• Driven, positive and enthusiastic with initiative and the ability to thrive under pressure.
• Full UK driving licence (manual or automatic) as you may drive centre vans.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Centre Manager to ensure adequate staffing at all times and provide effective cover in the Manager's absence.
• Ensure the welfare of all cats in our care and that administrative and maintenance procedures meet high standards aligned with our vision.
• Plan and direct activities of the cat care team in agreement with the Centre Manager.
• Handle homing and acceptance of cats and kittens and ensure forms are completed and veterinary standards are met by a qualified person.
