Job summary

Finning International is seeking a Rebuild Repair Engineer in the Glasgow area to recondition, repair and maintain CAT machines and support 2nd life overhauls within a large workshop. The role emphasizes electrical, hydraulic and engine troubleshooting and strong field-to-shop coordination.

Applicants with plant or HGV experience and a formal apprenticeship or significant relevant tenure are preferred. Attractive benefits and a pensions plan accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Extensive electrical, hydraulic and engine troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on plant, agricultural machinery or HGVs.
• Apprentice trained or 5+ years in a similar role.
• Reach truck licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed inspection to assess repair scope and costs.
• Perform diagnosis tests on machine components for cost evaluation.
• Prepare parts list for proposed work and overhaul machinery per plan.
• Overhaul, repair or refurbish machines and test for performance.
• Ensure machines meet quality standards and readiness for hire.

Education

Apprentice trained / Plant machinery background

5+ years experience in quality service environment

Reach truck licence
